আয়কর: ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানের বার্ষিক আয়ের উপরে যে আইনের মাধ্যমে যে কর ধার্য করা হয় তাকে বলা হয় আয়কর। বাংলাদেশে ২০২০-২১ সালের প্রস্তাবিত বাজেটে ব্যক্তির করমুক্ত আয়ের সীমা তিনলাখ নির্ধারন করা হয়েছে। অর্থাৎ কোন ব্যক্তির আয় যদি তিন লাখের বেশি হয় তাহলে তার উপরে নির্ধারিত হারে আয়কর প্রযোজ্য হবে।
মূসক: মূসক এর পূর্ণরূপ হল ‘মূল্য সংযোজন কর’। একে ইংরেজিতে VAT বা Value Added Tax বলা হয়। ক্রয়কৃত প্রতিটি পণ্যের জন্য ক্রেতা নির্ধারিত হারে ভ্যাট বা মূসক দিয়ে থাকেন যা বিক্রেতা সরকারি কোষাগারে জমা দেন। মূসককে বলা হয় ‘পরোক্ষ কর’, কারন এখানে কর ক্রেতার থেকে আদায় করা হলেও ক্রেতা সরাসরি সরকারি কোষাগারে জমা দেন না, বরং ক্রেতার পক্ষ থেকে বিক্রেতা জমা করেন।
শুল্ক: মূলত একদেশ থেকে আরেক দেশে পণ্য আমদানি-রপ্তানির সময়ে শুল্ক আরোপ করা হয়। এটাও একধরনের কর।
বাংলাদেশে জাতীয় রাজস্ব বোর্ড (এনবিআর) এর ‘আয়কর বিভাগ’ আয়কর আদায়ের দায়িত্ব পালন করে। এনবিআরের আদায়কৃত রাজস্বের শতকরা ৩৫ ভাগ আয়কর থেকে আদায় হয়। মূসক থেকে আদায় হয় প্রায় ৩৭ ভাগ। অবশিষ্টাংশ আদায় হয় শুল্ক থেকে। শুল্ক ও মূসক আদায়ের দায়িত্ব পালন করে এনবিআরের ‘কাস্টমস, এক্সাইজ ও ভ্যাট বিভাগ’।
